DAYANA

RAMPINELLI
Dayana Rampinelli

Visual Artist, Journalist and Writer
Dayana Bonotto Rampinelli has built her artistic journey at the intersection of painting, words, and an exploration of the contemporary world. A visual artist, journalist, and writer, she develops an original body of work marked by sensitivity, visual strength, and a constant search for new forms of expression.
Her contemporary art emerges from a process that is deeply intuitive yet conscious. Inspired by shapes, lines, volumes, movements, and structures that capture her attention, her creative process draws from experiences, memories, emotions, symbols, and observations of everyday life to create works that do not simply represent reality, but evoke sensations and open new possibilities for interpretation.
Contemporary Art
In her paintings, forms play a central role in the construction of her visual language. Lines, curves, volumes, geometric structures, and organic elements are explored, transformed, and reinterpreted throughout the creative process. Material, form, layers, and composition become essential instruments of her artistic language.
The artist’s research is particularly focused on the expressive power of black and white and a palette of neutral tones, exploring a minimalist, sophisticated, and timeless aesthetic. Contrast, restraint, and the relationship between light, shadow, texture, and space allow form to take center stage, giving each element of the composition a strong visual presence.
Her minimalist palette does not imply an absence of emotion. On the contrary, black, white, and neutral tones become instruments through which depth, movement, silence, and balance are revealed. This restrained use of color creates a visual language that is elegant, contemporary, and open to interpretation.
Her process unfolds organically: each work evolves throughout its creation, incorporating gestures, textures, layers, and elements that emerge between planning and spontaneity. Form is often the starting point for an investigation that expands into material, composition, and emotion.
More than an image, each work is conceived as an experience. The artist seeks to create works that engage with different environments and collectors, establishing a connection between the artwork, the space, and the person experiencing it.
Her production is particularly connected to the world of contemporary art and collecting, with a visual language that moves between sophistication, emotion, minimalism, and creative freedom.
Writer and Children’s Book Author
Dayana’s relationship with art also extends into literature. As a writer, she has created books for children, including the “Mary and the Magical World” series, a work that introduces children to a universe of imagination, affection, discovery, and human values.
Children’s literature represents another dimension of her creativity — a space where image, narrative, and sensitivity come together to stimulate imagination and communicate messages of love, generosity, and transformation.
Her work reflects an artistic identity in constant evolution — between painting and literature, between personal experience and dialogue with the world, and between intuitive expression and the conscious development of a distinctive artistic language.
Dayana Rampinelli believes in art as a form of connection: between people, places, forms, emotions, and stories.
INSPIRATION
CONTRAST IS THE KEY
Dayana Rampinelli’s art is a profound immersion into philosophy and literature, where intensity and contrast become her guiding muse. Her work transcends visual representation, emerging as a living manifestation of the fundamental principles of existence. Drawing inspiration from Hermetic philosophy, she engages with the forces of movement, mentalism, correspondence, vibration, polarity, rhythm, causality, and gender as essential elements of creation.
The artist perceives the universe as a perpetual dialogue between opposites: day and night, sweetness and bitterness. This duality drives her visual language and informs a palette rooted in contrast—most often black and white or blue and white—hallmarks of her contemporary minimalist and abstract style.
For Dayana, the power of an artwork lies in its material presence and emotional charge. She works with dense textures and thick layers of paint, evoking intensity and depth. Her creative process mirrors that of writing: rather than painting on traditional easels, she works horizontally on a table, embracing a method that allows intuition and gesture to flow freely.
While her canvases are frequently large in scale and restrained in form, she introduces a delicate and unexpected counterpoint—subtle cross-stitch embroidery, hand-sewn with needle and thread, quietly embedded within the surface. This convergence of strength and fragility animates her ongoing pursuit of movement, emotion, and essence.
Dayana Rampinelli’s work invites contemplation of the fundamental contrasts of existence, offering canvases where philosophical depth meets a raw and powerful visual expression.
